This
Antique Russian Judaic Wine Cup or Goblet measures approximately 1 1/8
inches or 29 mm across the width or diameter of the upper rim by just
under 1 1/4 inches or 30 mm across the width or diameter of the foot rim
and it stands 3 inches or 77 mm tall to the top of the cups rim.
The
cup is made from solid silver that was once completely gilded or gold
plated, it has a circular cup with tapering sides that stands on a
shaped stem over a raised step decorated circular foot, the outer body
of the cup has been superbly engrave decorated with flowers and foliage
that are typically Art Nouveau in style and the cup has Not been
engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as
photographed below, the kiddush cup has been impressed on the underside
of its foot and on the side of its upper body with the Russian 84
standard solid silver Kokoshnik mark that includes the Russian town mark
of Moscow that was used from 1908 along with the Moscow silversmith or
makers mark of Nicholai Strulyev whose mark is recorded as being used
from 1883 to 1908, I estimate that this Judaic or Kiddush cup was made
in 1908.
