This is a very unusual item – a saltern, made in Soviet-era Russia around 1950, and mimicking the style of late 19th and early 20th century imperial Russian silverware.The saltern and the spoon come with an original red gift box, with a stamp "Made in USSR", placed on the top right corner of the box.

 The product that you are seeing on the photo is a nickel /silver alloy (70/30) called ЮММЕТ i.e. "Jummet", Juvelirnaja metal and most obviously also electro plated.

Standing on three small feet and beautifully decorated, the item can be a perfect part of your collection.

AND THE SALT IS MARKED 5 UMMET.

Size

The salt is 2.5” wide and 1” high, the spoon is 3” long.

"ЮММЕТ" is a compound mark. It consists of two parts:
- "ЮМ" it's mark of jeweler factory of the town of Mstera (Мстера). Mstera it is the well-known center of art national creativity.
- «МЕТ» it's mark for a designation not a silver alloy (simple metal). Usually it is a Neusilber (Cu, Ni, Zn) or Melkchior(cupronickel) (Cu, Ni). A galvanic silverplate.
